We are looking for a versatile developer to join our fast-moving team and help us build modern AI applications. You will tackle a wide range of technological challenges and be involved in the entire process – from understanding the problem and developing the solution to deploying it in production. You will not be working on a single product or a narrowly defined part of a system.

What you’ll be doing

You will build and deliver end-to-end AI solutions:

• develop primarily backend applications in Python
• integrate external REST APIs and cloud services
• work with data storage solutions, including databases and blob storage
• implement RAG systems, voicebots, AI agents, and data pipelines
• process documents, technical drawings, and unstructured data
• integrate AI models with customers’ existing applications and systems
• deploy and operate solutions both in the cloud and directly in customers’ environments
• actively use AI tools in software development and explore how to use them effectively
• collaborate with solution architects, ML developers, the delivery manager, and customers
• contribute to improving our internal frameworks, tools, and development standards

• experience developing backend applications in Python
• hands-on experience developing a larger application or system
• ability to develop and integrate REST APIs
• experience with relational databases and SQL
• practical knowledge of Docker and a solid understanding of Linux
• active use of AI tools in software development
• ability to understand customers’ business needs and the value our solutions are expected to deliver
• willingness to learn new technologies, experiment, and find solutions that work
• independence, accountability, and a proactive approach
• ability to collaborate effectively and communicate openly within a team
• ability to talk to customers, understand their needs, and translate them into technical solutions

Nice to have

You do not need to know everything. We will be happy if you have experience in at least some of the following areas:

• FastAPI development, automated testing, or working with Git workflows in a team
• deploying applications with Kubernetes or working with Azure or AWS
• projects involving LLMs, RAG, or AI agents
• building data pipelines or working on larger enterprise projects

What our hiring process looks like

We are a small team, so you will not have to go through unnecessary formalities or a long series of interviews.

First, you will meet Jirka and Martin. We will talk about our mutual expectations, tell you more about what it is like to work at GAUSS, and answer any questions you may have.

If we feel we are a good match, we will ask you to complete a short practical assignment. During the second meeting, we will go through your solution together and discuss the approach you took and the decisions behind it. We will also make sure you have all the information you need to make your own decision.
